Freefoam Plastics are pleased to announce the delivery of a brand new Manitou Boom Lift.
The Boom Lift is fully electric, which means that Freefoam now no longer operate any diesel equipment. This transition away from diesel offers several benefits. The removal of a large diesel tank releases space on site and eliminates associated health and safety risks. The equipment operates at reduced noise levels compared to diesel alternatives and is also charged using renewable electricity, maximising its overall environmental benefits. And most importantly wil save around 3,800kg1 of CO2e each year, helping Freefoam meet sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
Having worked together for nearly 20 years, Freefoam have formed a great partnership with Hitec delivering and maintaining a diverse fleet of industrial equipment.
Jim Leghorn, Freefoam Warehouse Manager, explained “The Boom Lift is an exciting addition to our fleet with the capability to lift up to 60 feet, which means our production team can reach to the top of the silos in one action. We’re committed to the transition to electric vehicles where possible and pleased that Hitec, once again, could meet our changing requirements.”
Paul Stiff, Hitec’s Regional Business Development Manager, commented: “We are delighted to have completed this latest equipment delivery to Freefoam. We have built a great rapport with their team and are proud to be part of Freefoam’s move to a more sustainable operation.”
Colin St John, Commercial Director at Freefoam, says: “As a responsible manufacturer, we are committed to sustainable manufacturing, and it is our responsibility to monitor and reduce our overall impact on the environment. This new vehicle is another excellent example of a small change in a much larger programme of developments we are making across our entire operation.”
