'Moving away from Business-as-usual means changing and improving the way you do things (innovation) to ensure you don’t compromise the needs of future generations (sustainability). I believe what’s happening at Freefoam is a display of how well innovation and sustainability complement one another.
At the core of our business is the circular economy, of which a fundamental principle is ‘rethinking’ how you do things. Here at Freefoam, we reduce, reuse and recycle packaging to decrease our demand on raw materials. We operate a closed loop water system in our production plant, that reduces our water needs and demands on mains. We have invested in engineering technologies to decrease our energy consumption and carbon footprint. We train and empower our employees, to enable career development and increase staff retention. These are just some of the many examples where Freefoam has innovated for sustainable outcomes.
It's also important to highlight examples of sustainability in our DNA. Consider, for instance, our inherently circular products which are designed for longevity and durability. Freefoam profiles are made with recycled content, and at end of life, are 100% recyclable into new products.
Looking ahead, we will continue to make decisions that prioritise people, planet and profit as a commitment to deliver our strategic vision which is to be “the partner of choice for roofline and cladding by being the leading innovator in products, services and sustainable processes”.
