Freefoam have recently registered to record our recycling performance and activities with RecoTrace®.
RecoTrace® is a multi-polymer online data collection system. It records and monitors data, on both plastics recycling tonnages and recycled material use, across Europe.
The system builds on Recovinyl®’s 20+ years of data collection experience and expertise.
RecoTrace® helps companies tracking their progress towards circularity and make their tonnages count towards the Circular Plastics Alliance goal (10 million tons of recycled plastics used by 2025 in Europe), as well as national recycling and recycled content targets.
By recording our conversion activities and use of recycled material with Recotrace®, we are officially contributing towards reaching that target. This links with Freefoam’s strong commitment to circularity and sustainability.
This initiative enables Freefoam to showcase how circular PVC can be, with PVC being fully recyclable up to 10 times. Freefoam’s advanced material formulations along with its method of blending recycled materials allows for the quality and consistency of products to be maintained.
Freefoam has designed its products, and the material formulations, with recyclability in mind. A simple size reduction process is all that is needed to remanufacture our old products into new profiles.
With growing interest from our customer base in products which have less of an impact on the environment, we are constantly investing in research and development to meet the broad-based appetite for low carbon building products. Re-using PVC is one way of contributing to meeting this goal.
Tracking and reporting these circular activities benefits the overall polymer community. It highlights the truly circular nature of PVC. The European Commission can view and track the circularity of PVC, which we hope has a positive impact on building a case on the future of the PVC industry.
